Microsoft to Release Xbox Phone to Counter Sony

October 28, 2010

After rumours of Sony releasing a PlayStation phone have surfaced, Microsoft has been quick to counter with a gaming phone of their own. “It’s going to have better graphics than the PlayStation phone. And it can play HD DVDs” said a Microsoft spokesman. He had little to say about allegations that the device may not be of high-caliber, due to the fact that it is being rushed into production: “We aren’t worried. If anything goes wrong, we can just issue a massive recall. We’ve got plenty of experience with that.”

The spokesman also did not agree when asked if Microsoft may be losing power in the tech industry: “Sure, Apple has their fancy touch phones, Sony’s got their handheld games… but we have Microsoft Word; and  nothing will ever top that.”

The estimated retail price of the Xbox Phone is $399 with a 3-year plan, and $499 with a temporary Xbox live subscription. Monthly payments of $100 and your first-born child are then required to keep the subscription.
